Tunisia at GULFOOD 2019: The art of being a trendsetter

PACKTEC and CEPEX are organizing the Tunisian participation at GULFOOD 2019 which will be held in Dubai, from 17 to 21 February, 2019.

Since 2007, Tunisia didn’t miss taking part to GULFOOD. Being one of the world’s largest food events, it is marked by the presence of 97,000 visitors; what a great opportunity for a country that’s looking forward to expand its commercial horizons internationally.

The Middle East is one of the most attractive zones for Tunisian olive oil exporting companies given the rising consumption trends in the region. Knowing that the Per capita household expenditure as well as oils and fats consumption are increasing, Tunisia is willing to offer its best quality olive oils to foodies and chefs in the UAE.

Following the record number of awards won in the most prestigious international olive oil competitions notably New York IOOC, Tunisia is ready to impulse new consumption trends in the region by putting an emphasis on the benefits that a plant-based ketogenic diet may have on health.

Unlike the Mediterranean diet which includes a very high amount of carbohydrates, the plant-based ketogenic diet focuses on very high fat (at least 70-80%), moderate protein (20-25%), and very low carb intake (5-10%). It Leads to More Weight Loss and Increases Levels of HDL, the "Good" Cholesterol. Opting for Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a source of monounsaturated fatty acids is one of the pillars of the aforementioned diet.

This participation will be marked by a unique Cooking show during which recipes inspired from a plant-based diet are going to be exposed.

Tunisian olive oil companies that are interested by taking part to GULFOOD 2019 are invited to submit their request to the Olive Oil Unit at PACKTEC.
